i want to experience an orgasm in outer space too.

One of my favorite manga artists, Aya Takano from Takashi Murakami’s art collective/animation studio Kaikai Kiki, is touring in Paris. Her work features a mix of the neurotic senses and sci-fi elements. Here is an interview by Gallerie Emmanuel Perotin with Aya Takano.

Aya grew up in Saitama, the city north of Tokyo, where I first lived when I moved to Japan. In the video she describes her influences from science fiction and the famed Japanese author, Osama Tezuka. It looks like she’s walking on the decks of Odaiba, and transporting to another universe.

i ordered taro chips and guacamole. they gave me a green smiley face.

unice in ebisu, tokyo, japan. this used to be my favorite hangout. grab a bite or a drink with friends, then head next store to their sound stage. i caught a show here with ooioo, the sister band of the boredoms. they sounded like hyena-like goddesses in a forest if there ever is such a thing. plus they played their own instruments. at unice, i also liked that no chair was the same and the couches were comfortably worn in.
